I am four years into my public health journey, and I’m very grateful to have studied at one of the most renowned institutions for public health. I’ve worked in both Nigeria and UK national public health institutes with great scientists and epidemiologists and my experiences have given me a solid foundation in the biosciences and infectious diseases.
My areas of expertise are in microbiology laboratory research, strategy, health policy and science communication.
My research areas during my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees:
MSc project on ‘An investigation into policies and behaviours during 1918-19 influenza pandemic in London Boroughs’ (content analysis)
BSc project on ‘The molecular detection of antimicrobial resistance genes in enteric bacteria.’
If you’d like to read my undergraduate and postgraduate research, send me an e-mail.
Given the ongoing outbreaks of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, I recognise the importance of public understanding regarding their spread, prevention and control. I’m committed to sharing simplified public health knowledge.

My experiences have uniquely positioned me to assist students in navigating their academic and career journeys. Years ago, I struggled in my transition from secondary school to A-Level. I wrote about this on my blog. Despite starting A-Level with D's after being an A student, I managed to achieve some of the best results in my class in my second year. While I initially dreamt of becoming a medical doctor for years, a cardiologist to be precise, my path took a different direction. This wasn’t without some confusion, medical school rejections, and courage too. I'm passionate about helping students navigate academics and career journeys.
I currently do this through The Student’s Friend mentorship platform with a pool of mentors. Our mentors have backgrounds in fields ranging from law to public health, entrepreneurship to human resources, software engineering to poetry, and more. To learn more, check out The Student’s Friend website and leave a message requesting mentorship. Don’t wait – take the first step towards improved clarity, confidence, purpose and direction today!
I’ve written a free short guide for students navigating their academics and career, which you can access once you sign up to my community.
